Help make Mike Fremont’s record setting performance go viral!

After some tinkering, I finally assembled the bits and pieces of video – that I made while running backwards – of Mike running forward in the Marshall University marathon. And while it won’t win an Oscar for best film production, the video shows how a 90-year-old manages to get through a six-and-a-half-hour ordeal on the streets of Huntington.

We all have excuses about why we don’t exercise. Why we could never run a 5K race, let alone a marathon. Why we have medical issues.

Mike’s performance shows that people can achieve something great if they decide that they want it badly enough and if they change their lifestyles. Mike will readily admit that he could not have done this with the lifestyle he had prior to his bout with cancer at age 70. A book from his son (which, although he got it at 65, he didn’t read until the cancer hit) helped him to change his lifestyle. It worked for him and it can work for anyone!

So, if you feel this YouTube video is worthwhile and if you like the LifeNuts vitality program, please do two things: share it with as many people as you can and propose the program to your city council. Although we’ve just launched LifeNuts and don’t have any results yet, they will come. Some may feel that I paced Mike in this marathon. Funny thing - he probably paced me since my shin injury made every step hurt and made me consider quitting at the half-way point. Anyway, just click on or paste the link to watch Mike in action:

And again, LifeNuts is a free program for any city to use. There is absolutely no commercial, corporate plan here. The website explains it in great detail and, yes, there is a book available for purchase at a nominal sum. If there is any profit from the book, which is dubious at best, it will go back into the LifeNuts program, perhaps as a grant to a city that needs it.
